Last
week Paco Ruíz offered us an academic talk with a historical focus on
how CNT was formed. He then touched on his dissertation proposal which
studies the impact of the Russian Revolution on Spanish worker
organizations and specifically on CNT. The next day the book La traición de la hoz y el martillo
[The Betrayal of the Hammer and Sickle] was presented and received
well, selling a few copies. More materials also arrived from the Grillo
Libertario distribution association.
On Saturday we debated the Labor Reform and proposed ways to fight the
economic crisis that’s being shoved down our throats. We closed with an
act accompanied by dinner in the union among comrades. A very pleasant,
welcoming and enriching week.
Brief chronologically explanation of the conflict
October 5, 2009
IFAS
Hotel, is a residence dedicated to providing luxury living to
retirees, and located in the central Rambla de Alicante, new
section was created. Its members are mostly kitchen staff. At that time, the section, and the company was called Serunión, directed by Mediterranean cuisine (GM ).
December 2009 – January 2010
Given
the harsh working conditions, it happend what we where saying was going to happend,, our most active partner in the company suffered an industrial
accident. This situation arises in the context of changing business, Serunión ceased and a new company came into play, ISS.
This
new company, reviewed contracts (many in fraud of law) and interrogatde
workers one by one, offered the workers to end the working relation with the old company and start a new working relationship with them from
scratch, losing all rights. To this, our comrade Manuel refused, since the conditions «offered» by ISS were worse than they already had. The section claimed a surrogacy from the old to the new company to which the new company answered with dismissal.

On October 19, we have piket at the offices of the hotel corporate HQ, Union comrades of GBU Madrid supporting comrade Manuel from CNT Granada. Until there went a police car per person, of course that did not deter us to continue our concentration.
Manuel was dismissed being off work because of a working accident, with the company’s goal of deriving responsibilities and getting rid of an annoying anarchosyndicalist.
It must be made clear to Vinci Hotels, that we will ficht against this injustice and if they want to get rich it will not be at the expense of accidents suffered by workers, by saving money on safety and personal hygiene. If someone must have an accident, let it be the manager or owners. We will take appropriate action to be readmitted to the partner.

CNT ha denunciado importantes deficiencias en materia de prevención de riesgos en la contrata que EULEN tiene con la cementera COSMOS. En concreto, CNT ha denunciado ante la Inspección de Trabajo las penosas condiciones en que prestan sus servicios los trabajadores de EULEN en la cantera de explotación de COSMOS, donde no disponen de caseta para aseo, ni water ni ducha ni vestuarios, comedor o botiquín, ni siquiera agua potable.

Este convenio afecta también a los a los trabajadores subrogados por las empresas concesionarias de servicios públicos: limpieza viaria y recogida de basura, mantenimiento de la red de alcantarillado y agua potable y limpieza de edificios de competencia municipal. En las empresas que gestionan estos servicios como en el propio Ayuntamiento la CNT cuenta con secciones sindicales por lo que la central anarcosindicalista tiene la determinación de influir en esta negociación para que se tengan en cuenta las reivindicaciones planteadas por los trabajadores y trabajadoras afiliados a esta central.
