Friday the 22nd, Jorge Román, CNT Union Delegate, was fired from
the Marylanza Hotel. Tenerife Sur’s SOV calls for solidarity.
Comrade Román was clearly fired because of his union activity so
he demands immediate reinstatement. This Friday we began our direct
action campaign to get back his job.
Hotel Marylanza’s management communicated that they would be laying off J.
Antonio Román a few days ago. Jorge has been a CNT Union Delegate
since the end of March.
The company recognizes that they were going to fire him unfairly
when they tried to tempt him with a stuffed severance check so he would go
quietly. This just goes to show how little they understand people who
work in CNT. They are obviously trying to rid themselves of a
inconvenient and pesky Union Section, always ready to fight back when
the rights of the workers at Marylanza are being threatened. For this
very reason the Union has organized to get our fired compañero his
job back, which translates to a call to pickets, bombarding them with faxes, etc.
We call all union members and sympathizers to participate in the
pickets of protest we will hold Fridays and Sundays at 11 am in front
of the Marylanza Hotel (calle Los Arenales. Golf Las Amércias. Los
Cristianos)
