Last Saturday, the 26th of February, the CNT-AIT demonstrated in Almería
to demand the reinstatement of a worker dismissed from C.A.S.I. by its
president, José María Andújar Andújar. This was as an act of repression
for demanding workers’ rights together with other comrades.
The demonstration took place in the neighbourhood of la Cañada, where
the cooperative is located and where the majority of the workers,
farmers and the president of C.A.S.I. live. This was a success since we
could confirm that the people in the neighbour were aware of this
conflict and that the president is responsible for the cooperative’s new
policies and the layoffs which resulted.
We are encouraging the workers and the farmers to organize against the situation in which they are the ones hardest hit.
